Edwin van der Heide 於1970年出生,1992年時自荷蘭皇家音樂學院聲響學系畢業。他同時身為藝術家和研究者致力聲音,空間和互動媒體的開發與創新。他目前的工作領域是難以界定的,因為他選擇創作的媒材時常介於傳統音樂、聲音藝術、媒體藝術之間的特定集合地帶。Edwin認為媒體本身並非只是扮演調解的角色,但它屬性特質應該成為作品中內在固有的本質。
Edwin van der Heide延伸音樂性語言進入空間的,互動的和跨學科的方向並超越傳統音樂會的表達形式。其結果可以是一個裝置,表演或環境。觀眾時常被放置在作品之中並被挑戰要主動探索, 參與互動及延展自己與作品之間的美學關係。
始自1995年 , 他開始於海牙的荷蘭皇家音樂學院附屬的藝術與科學部門教授影像與聲音學科,同時也兼任皇家藝術學院的講師。2002開始,他也開始在荷蘭萊登大學講授媒體科技的理工碩士學程。 在2007他在同一機構成為助理教授。
2009年,他在歐洲贏得了科技聲音領域中最高榮譽的“Witteveen+Bos Prize of Music +Technology”首獎。Edwin van der Heide曾經是台灣宏碁2000 “ArtFuture”

Edwin van der Heide (1970) studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatory, where he graduated in 1992. He is working as artist and researcher in the field of sound, space and interaction. His current work is hard to define in the traditional terms of music, sound art or media art because he is often working with specific characteristics a chosen medium. The medium is not meant to 'just' mediate but it's properties become an intrinsic part of the work.
Edwin Van der Heide is extending the term musical language into spatial, interactive and inter-disciplinary directions and going beyond the traditional concert presentation form. The result can either be an installation, a performance or an environment. Often the audience is placed in the middle of the work and challenged to actively explore, interact and relate themselves to the work.
In 1995 he started lecturing at the interfaculty Image and Sound / ArtScience of the Royal Conservatory and the Royal Arts Academy in The Hague, The Netherlands. Since 2002 he lectures at the Media Technology MSc program of Leiden University, The Netherlands. In 2007 he became an assistant professor at the same institution.
In 2009, he has won the highest honor of “Witteveen+Bos-prijs voor Kunst+Techniek” in Europe.

今年三月時為了慶祝 TCAC 開幕,發起人必須要認捐演講,我認為 video 是最接近傳統藝術/行動範疇的網際網路與社會未來重要議題,因此我擬的題目是:「線上視訊運動與運動者」。光是提出一個籠統的概念檢視 online video trends & activism 還不夠,我做的是具體地探討未來藝術家需要處理視訊議題的提問方法與思考類型,並且就內容類型來逐類檢視其可能性。

當時反應與迴響不錯,再應邀就沒有提到的一些次類型(政治影片)再做回顧,並且邀請印度裔美國獨立製片導演 Shashwati Talukdar 一起介紹她的作品。與國際(相對於台灣)的製作環境,探討在台灣的環境未來作藝術/video 運動的可能。

Its not only the responsibility of the artist to articulate what is not spoken, but also to find ways to break the constraints that impinge on creative practice. And here creative practice is defined
in the broadest terms to include funding, getting your work to an audience, and critical dialogue about your work. Artists can and should take control of all the aspects of their art.

CV Shashwati Talukdar
Shashwati Talukdar, is an independent filmmaker. She began working in the film and television industry as an assistant editor for a TV show by Michael Moore. Since 1999, she has worked on projects for HBO, BBC, Lifetime, Sundance and Cablevision. Shashwati has directed over a dozen films and videos, which have been screened at venues including the Margaret Mead Festival, Berlin, the Whitney Biennial in New York, Kiasma Museum of Art in Helsinki and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia. She has been supported by entities including the Jerome Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts, and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. She has been awarded the James T. Yee Mentorship Award from Center for Asian American Media (2002) and the Project Involve Fellowship (2003) from IFP/New York. In addition, Shashwati has taught at NYU, Arcadia and Temple University. She is a graduate of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and Temple University, Philadelphia. She lives between Taiwan, the United States and India.

西班牙巴塞羅那獨立策展人。曾於公共和私營部門策劃許多展覽。重要相關經歷如下:
自2009年起為Humberto Rivas (1937-2009)攝影檔案室的計畫主持人與策展人。 www.humbertorivas.com
2009 “自我與他者。肖像畫在當代印度攝影“,與 Devika Daulet-Singh共同策展。
2008 “Reflections of Contemporay India ”
曾與Manuel Saiz 及 Jorge Bravo 為“TheVideoArtFoundation”共同創始人。2003她策劃25hrs,其中包括二十五個小時的不間斷錄像放映了超過 300國際錄像作品創舉。
1997-95 策劃Se Alquila (To Rent) 展,此展奇異之處在於它是由屋主外租/借的私人空間所規畫而成的展出空間,在此當中作品擁有不同於傳統的容器。
1994-1985她與Marisa Diez de la Fuente在Galeria Ciento一同工作,Galeria Ciento為巴塞隆那70至80年代藝術和文化極具重要意義的空間。
1976-1979她開始了作為Video Nou(1976-1979年)開拓團隊之創始成員的職業生涯,其實驗性作品記載了社會、政治和文化等領域,今已成為Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA)永久收藏的一部分。

Freelance curator based in Barcelona, Spain. She had organized many exhibitions in the public and private sector. We can highlight the following items:
From 2009 she is director and curator of the archive of Humberto Rivas (1937-2009). www.humbertorivas.com photographic
2009 Curator together with Devika Daulet-Singh, of the exhibition “The Self and the Other. Portraiture in Contemporary Indian Photography”. A vision of the photographic practice in today’s India through the works of 16 photographers.
La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, Barcelona, and ARTIUM-Centro Museo Vasco de Arte Contemporáneo, Vitoria, Spain.
2008 Curates the exhibition “Reflections of Contemporay India ”. Showing the works of Indian artists N.S. Harsha, Sheela Gowda, Anup Mathew Thomas and Amar Kanwar. As part of the exhibition she elaborated a video documentary on each artist.
La Casa Encendida, Madrid.
As co-founder of TheVideoArtFoundation, together with Manuel Saiz and Jorge Bravo she curated and organised 25hrs (2003), a project consisting of twenty-five hours of uninterrupted video screening during which more than three hundred works of international video art created over the past ten years were projected.
1997-95 She conceives, coordinates and curates the exhibitions “Se Alquila”(To Rent); independent group shows that took place in private spaces (to rent or for sale) lended by the owners. The singularity of Se Alquila was its exhibiting spaces, in which the works had a different container from the traditional places.
1994-1985 She works together with Marisa Diez de la Fuente in Galeria Ciento, space of great significance in the artistic and cultural life during the 70’ and the 80’ in Barcelona.
She began her professional career as a founding member of the pioneering group Video Nou (1976-1979), whose experimental works devoted to documenting the social, political and cultural spheres are now part of the permanent collection of the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA).
